Disney100

I’ve had a blast this year with my Disney100 celebration and it’s now coming to an end. In this final Disney100 episode, I’m joined by my good friends Marc Vibbert from the Animation Fascination podcast and Trent Vactor from the Vactor-Verse podcast where we each pick three favorite films from either the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, and/or Lucasfilm—all studios which The Walt Disney Company currently owns.

Disney100 – Pirates of the Caribbean

As part of my Disney100 series, film aficinado Jen Edwards and movie critic Rachel Wagner join me in a discussion of all five Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This wildly popular film series is based on the wildly popular Disney Parks attraction of the same name.

The five films are:

Rachel has ranked all of the movies based on Disney Parks rides, which is here. Also, Rachel’s video of her Disneyland ride rankings is here.

And here’s a different take on the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels from someone who actually likes them (not me).

Disney100—“Overrated Disney”

As another of my Disney100 podcasts, celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, I’m joined by film critic and podcaster extraordinaire Rachel Wagner of Rachel’s Reviews along with film aficionado and podcaster Darin Lundberg of Nostalgia Cast to discuss films from The Walt Disney Studios that we think are overrated, or rather rated or valued too highly.

Here’s a hint of one of the films we’ll be talking about.

Disney100 – Director Stephen Anderson

I had the honor and privilege of talking with animation director Stephen Anderson. He is the director of Meet the Robinsons (2007) and Winnie the Pooh (2011)–two great Disney films and both part of my Disney100 movie watching project this year. Stephen was also the director of season one of the Disney+ animated series Monsters at Work.

Here’s a link with more info about Disney Legend Burny Mattinson, who recently passed away and who worked with Stephen on Winnie the Pooh. Burny was the longest-serving cast member in the history of The Walt Disney Company and was due to receive his 70th anniversary service award (the first one ever awarded by Disney) on June 4.

Check out the newly released documentary about the making of The Emperor’s New Groove called Beware the Groove: The Making of a Cult Classic. Also check out the podcast that my friend Rachel Wagner and I recorded with the film’s documentarian and director Micah Hirsh.
